February Media Mixer

Jes Richardson will be premiering, "The Beautiful People of Iran", a 20 minute video-piece, at the February Media Mixer. Richardson is a peace activist (credentialed teacher, board member of the Social Justice Center of Marin and a CMCM member) and founder/director of "Bridge of Hearts", also the creator of the ten foot tall Gandhi Puppet that has attended many events in the Bay Area. Richardson has been to Iran in 2007 and 2010. He will be taking his newest creation, "The Gandhi Peace Train" to Washington DC this Summer to encourage Congress to support the current negotiations with Iran. As he travels he'll be showing "The Beautiful People of Iran" at house parties and other venues along the way.

Jes will invite six young Iranian­ Americans to join him hiking the "Angel Trail" in Israel. The 580 mile trail will be hosted by "100 Angels" who live along the trail, and who will be providing shelter for the hikers Find out more at israel121c.org.

New CMCM member Barbara McVeigh screens her documentary "Racing with Copepods," created not only to teach young people how to sail, but how to speak for our oceans.

Holiday Party

The Community Media Center of Marin will be holding a free Media Mixer and Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Member Mixer April

In an effort to improve the Member Mixer format, and prepare for a presentation in April, the March Member Mixer (scheduled for tonight) has been cancelled.

The April Member Mixer will feature Ken Smith, who will present his film "112 Years at the Ranch," followed by a Q & A session.

We are getting ready for an amazing lineup for our April Media Mixer. Presenters will be renowned photographer Sharon Caplan Cohen, whose work will be on display in the CMCM Gallery during April; and "Arizmendi's Secret," a documentary produced by CMCM member Phil Murphy in collaboration with videographer/editor Jeanette Egenlauf. Join the staff from Arizmendi Bakery for a sneak preview of this short subject before it airs on Marin TV.

CMCM Screening: Cuba, Libre

An informative and insightful documentary about Cuba's past and present will be screened at CMCM on Saturday, February 13.

Members are invited to arrive at 6:30 PM to mix and mingle prior to the 7 PM presentation of "Cuba, Libre," produced by member Dick Jordan, a prolific travel writer and blogger.
